The Resting Place

Through the good and generous spirit of Wayne Fox and his sweet wife, Marsha, Randy and I find ourselves in Hawaii this week. We stopped off in Oahu and enjoyed the hospitality of Denny and Marjorie (Randy's brother and wife) at their home at the Koa Lina resort in Kapolei.

At first light on Saturday morning, we sailed around the edge of the island to a beautiful and special location Denny had picked out just for Grandpa (Randy's father who passed away in December). Just past Paradise Cove, there is a spot of pure white sand on the ocean floor.

Denny spoke a few words to his father; Randy dedicated the area; Denny kept the boat over the chosen location; Randy spread his ashes.

Then we spread flowers.

We sensed that Grandpa was there too.

I'm so grateful we were able to be here.

Paisley turns ONE!

Our sweet little Paisley had a Birthday!

 We gathered at Thanksgiving Point's Farm Country to celebrate.

Kylie chose the BIGGEST horse to ride. 

Paisley was a bit nervous about the experience.

She preferred her own two feet.

 And after Farm Country, a little more barnyard fun at the house. (Such an adorable cake, Katie!)

And from me? A little Gammie knitting, of course.

Saying "Goodbye"

Tonight I kissed my Emily and her sweet family goodbye. They are moving to Charlottesville,Virginia where Joe will attend Law School.

I am excited for them. What an adventure this will be. Joe is SO smart and they are both so ready.

I will miss her; she brings such smiles and sunshine to my life. This should be "old hat" - I've kissed her goodbye for college and a mission too, but somehow it doesn't get any easier.
