Empty Church, Empty Parking Lot

Randy and I awoke after our first night  and readied ourselves for church. We arrived about 20 minutes early and found the parking lot emptier than in times past. As we parked the car, we noticed that the few cars in the parking lot looked brand new (unmistakably rentals) and their drivers looked pretty pale for around here (timeshare dwellers). Someone came to our car window and said, “I hear they were building a new meeting house. Maybe it’s finished? I think I know where it is!” By now the parking lot was filling with more rentals and time-share dwellers. One by one, we followed that man who thought he knew.

This is what we found:

Nope, not quite finished.

So the string of rental cars returned to the Marriott.

We found out later that today was their stake conference held about an hour away by the airport. We chose to listened to General Conference instead. Better luck next week in Hana.
